The two proposed trips are below. The Senior proposal has been edited because the Silverwood Amusement Park will not be open when we plan to take the trip. There is the possibility of going to the Big Cat Zoo in Spokane instead. Also, there will be no swimming at Hells Gate State Park because it will be too cold. The seniors also looked at adding a couple of more stops and changing the route so we could see different country. The schedule will have to be rearranged, but they didn't have time.
Seniors Our OFT Trip proposal is to go to Spokane Washington, head south to Clarkston/Lewiston ID then north. Day 1: 8:00- Leave school 8:00- 3:00 Drive to Spokane 3:00- 3:45- Walk around riverfront park and go on the Spokane Falls Skyride 3:45- 4:45 Drive to Kamiak Butte 4:45- 6:15 Hike Kamiak Butte 6:15- 6:45 Drive to Heyburn State Park 6:45- ? Day 1: 1) Billings (possible activities) Pictograph caves Moss Mansion Yellowstone Art Museum 2) Miles City (possible activities) Range Rider Museum Custer County Art Museum 3) Ekalaka (possible activities) Medicine Rock State Park Long Pines Chalk Buttes 4) Camp at Medicine Rocks Park or sleep in Ekalaka High School Day 2: 1) Ekalaka Carter County Museum 2) Alzeda Just because everybody should be able to say they have been to Alzeda! 3) Lead Homestake Gold Mine This is the granddaddy of gold mines for North America and is still productive. 4) Deadwood Mount Moriah Cemetary This is the burial place of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane and Seth Bullock, and other notable figures of the Wild West. 5) Sturgis Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame Just look around maybe try to see some of the campgrounds that are full during the rally 6) Mount Rushmore 7) Crazy Horse Memorial Tour 8) Camping at Hot Springs or Wind Cave National Park Day 3: 1) Wind Cave National Park 2) Jewel Cave National Park 3) Devil's Tower National Park 4) Gillette, Wyoming Eagle Butte Coal Mine Tour 5) Spend the night somewhere in or around Gillette Day 4: 1) Buffalo Visit the many forts and massacre sites between Buffalo WY and Sheridan WY and follow the John Bozeman Trail.
